Channel 6 Announces Opening of New Station in Downtown Temple

As NBC celebrates 90 years, we at KCEN are also celebrating our own milestone - a new facility in the heart of Downtown Temple.

On February 23rd, in conjunction with the Temple Chamber of Commerce, Channel 6 will formally launch into a new era with our private open house. This event will be host to leaders from the local community, as well as special guests from across the nation.

Previously operating out of the studios in Eddy, TX, Channel 6 now occupies the more than 20,000 sq. ft. building at 215 N. 3rd Street that was the former home of First Baptist Church in Temple. When asked about the move to Temple, Gayle Kiger (General Manager of KCEN Channel 6) stated, "Central Texas' first TV station is proud to be Central Texas' newest TV station. Our state-of-the-art Bell County facility is proud to serve the entire region in a way no one else can - from our Downtown Temple all-digital studios."

KCEN's private open house event will be held as part of the monthly Temple Chamber of Commerce's business after hours meeting. G. Roderick Henry, President & CEO of the Temple Chamber of Commerce noted, "KCEN-TV's move to downtown Temple is further affirmation of what is transpiring...the renaissance of downtown and the positive change of landscape of the entire area. We are excited and thrilled that KCEN-TV Channel 6 will be hosting this event, and we fully expect one of the largest crowds ever."
