CAC - Upcoming Classes Open For Enrollment

The Cultural Activities Center’s upcoming classes are open for enrollment, starting soon are writing, clay and bricks 4 kids robotics classes. Visit cacarts.org for full descriptions of all classes and to register.

Creative Writing continues with widely published and acclaimed poet Cynthia Linzy, who teaches visualization exercises and tricks for improving reading, writing and creative skills. Children's classes are held on Wednesdays starting Mar. 1, no class will fall on Mar. 29, for ages 8-12. Students can attend at either 10-11am or 3:45-4:45pm. Adult classes are held on either Friday mornings at 10-11:30am starting Mar. 3 or on Tuesday evenings at 7-8:30pm starting Mar. 7. Cost for all writing classes is $35 for the month and participants will need to bring a journal or composition book.

Clay classes continue with long time CAC instructor, Marilyn Ritchie. Classes are offered on Tuesday evenings and Saturday mornings. Students in Ritchie’s classes explore hand building and use the wheel. Students will experiment with a wide variety of suggested projects, including pinch pots, handled objects, enclosed objects and slab constructions; all of which have many fun and practical uses. Past students have created dishes, vases, art pieces, soap dishes, baskets and many other items. Tuesday classes are from 6-9pm, and begin on Feb. 21 running through Apr. 4, 2017. Saturday classes are from 9:30am-11:30am, and begin on Apr. 8. Cost for each class is $110 and includes clay.

Bricks 4 Kidz returns to the CAC with two classes to build science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) concepts. Bricks 4 Kids Robotics classes are offered Thursdays and Fridays starting Feb. 23, and Feb. 24 as well as Brick 4 Kids Laws in Motion.

The Cultural Activities Center, located at 3011 North Third Street in Temple, TX, offers classes and programs for all ages throughout the year. Current adult classes include writing, dance and movement, clay and yoga. The CAC offices will be closed Dec. 19, for the holiday break, however registrations are open online.
